We are required to adhere to the SANParks rules and restrictions. Guests must arrive at the gate on time in order to make it onto the concession by Gate Closing Time. Failure to adhere to these times can result in refused entry by SANParks, and having to find alternative accommodation outside the park for the night (for your own account).
Late/early transfer arrangements and permits can be arranged by the lodge – but are dependent on the Kruger Park officials agreeing that the case is an emergency.
NOTE: Guests arriving for Rhino Post Safari Lodge and Plains Camp are advised to enter through the Kruger Gate.
If the necessary pre-planning is not done, it can result in guests having to pay the full conservation fee at the gate of entry, and no reimbursements will be made.
If guests are travelling via another route which makes an alternative gate more practical, the reservations office must be informed prior to travelling so that alternative arrangements can be made for the other gate. Last-minute changes on the day of arrival can be accommodated if the guest/agent contacts the lodge directly prior to their arrival at the gate, to inform them to make the necessary changes.
Skukuza Airport
Airlink flies daily from Johannesburg (55 mins) & Cape Town (2hr 30 mins) directly to Skukuza Airport inside the Kruger National Park. Guests are met at the airport and transferred to the lodge (30 minutes drive) in an open game-drive vehicle starting their safari experience the minute they step off the plane. A nominal fee is charged for the road transfer from Skukuza Airport to Plains Camp @ Rhino Walking Safaris. Flight schedules connect with international & regional flights into Johannesburg & Cape Town International Airports.
Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA)
SA Express, Airlink & Nationwide Airlines fly daily from Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg to KMIA in Nelspruit. Approximate flying time from Johannesburg to Nelspruit is 55 minutes. It is a 3.5hr drive from Nelspruit to Plains Camp @ Rhino Walking Safaris. If utilising the scheduled flights, you would need to make use of one of the following:

Private Charters are permitted to land at Skukuza Airport situated approximately a half-hour road transfer in open 4 x 4 game viewing vehicles, through the Kruger National Park to the lodge. Co-ordinates: S24º 58.0’ E031º 36.0’ Length: 1.55km tarred runway.
