Four stylishly appointed en-suite explorer-style tents are perfectly nestled in the shade of a Knobthorn cluster in the world-renowned Kruger National Park. Far removed from civilisation, Plains Camp is well positioned for exclusivity and adventure. Experience unfettered wildlife in ‘Big 5 territory’ and then come back to a comfortable inviting bed for that well deserved rest.

Plains Camp has four comfortably furnished African explorer tents, each accommodating two persons in twin beds. The screened en-suite bathroom has a toilet, brass shower and basin with hot running water. Each suite has its own private deck with Adirondack chairs overlooking the Timbetene plain where you can relax and enjoy the African wilderness on your doorstep.

Triples – Because the maximum number of people on a walking safari is limited to eight, we regret we cannot accommodate three people in one tent. The third person would have to occupy their own tent.

Please note that smoking is not permitted indoors

We regret that because the minimum age for a walking safari is 12 years old, we cannot accommodate children under the age of 12 at Plains Camp @ Rhino Walking Safaris.

Accommodating children under 12

Should a family group decide to book the whole camp, we will be able to accommodate children under 12. They will still not be able to participate in the walking safaris or a Sleep-Out. While the rest of the party is walking in the bush, we would need to arrange a guide to accompany the child in the camp (by prior arrangement and at an additional cost).

Children and Sleep-Outs

Should you not be travelling in a group and have a child between the ages of 8 and 12, you may want to consider staying at Rhino Post Safari Lodge and booking a private Sleep-Out from this lodge. This way you may forgo the walking option but at least enjoy the magical adventure of a night under the stars.
